Last week the “We Are Not Broken” project began with about a dozen friends coming in to sing the chorus with me. In the months before, arranging the song with the band, recording my parts, having Audra Mae come in to song, I began to envision a chorus of voices singing along to the song, like it is at the end of a concert when the world lays still and the crowd and I begin our duet of anthemic calling to the universe, declaring the simple fact that no matter who we are or where we are at in our lives, we are worth it and never truly broken. This matters to me greatly and I realized that it is really how I want to unravel this album.
I have some big ideas for the We Are Not Broken project, many of which may involve you (creatively??).
